Terrabeast  
Terrabeast with up to 10TB of storage of fast disk utilizes the latest technology from the consumer market space. Carefully designed to meet the needs of the simulation community as well as servicing the EarthWhere software package we believe we have created a fantastic scalable product family that can suit both customer bases. In fact for the EarthWhere customer, one Terrabeast will scale up 10 TB of Fast Disk and allow for additional add on Disk Array Systems. For EarthWhere two configurations are available; a 4U chassis with up to 6.4TB of fast disk storage or a 5U chassis with up to 10TB of fast disk on one unit. EarthWhere supports up to 16GB of RAM Memory and Linux Red Hat 9.0 Operating System.

The 10 TB system comes standard with two 120GB Operating System Hard Disks in a Mirror Raid Configuration in addition to 24 x 400GB Hard Disks in a JBOD configuration. In fact, depending on your storage and mission critical needs, the 24 disks may be configured in a variety of RAID configurations.

By incorporating CCOTS (Consumer Commercial off the Shelf) and Open Software solutions you have the complete package to build, maintain and grow your simulation systems as well as host your enterprise EarthWhere Server. With the most powerful PC Graphics cards on the market as part of this packaged configuration you can fly very complex 3D databases built in Terravista Pro in real time.

The Terrabeast is based on Intel Xeon Processors and today can support up to 3.6 Ghz with our current Server Motherboard. Our Motherboard supports the SLi version of the NVidia GPU's when they are available. All our products are CCOTS so when they fail, a trip to the local computer shop will most likely solve your instant maintenance problem should you find yourself in a time critical situation. Of course our local representatives will be happy to serve your maintenance calls but it is not necessary for you to rely on this means for supporting your computers once the systems have exceeded their warranty.

For a Specialty Application look at the Multi Machine Build 3D Terrain Building Application from Terrain Experts (Terrex)

The Terrabeast is the ideal system to serve as a Terrex MMB compute platform for those customers who have very large data sets. In order to optimize your MMB build times, it is often better to have the data distributed on each system. What this means is you don't have to send the imagery data over the LAN to each node of the MMB system. Each system can be configured with up to 16 x 400GB Hitachi SATA drives giving you up to 6.4TB of on line storage in a JBOD configuration. Should your data be less than this, you can configure the system to handle a variety of RAID configurations. See the Specs for more information on disk drives and Disk Controllers
